Scotch Burnet Earrings - Grey melange & red melange Stripe

Sustainably sourced ebonised ash, sewing thread, linen thread, oxidised sterling silver posts and backs.

My Brush Collection of jewellery is inspired by a love of brushes and stems from research into traditional brush making techniques. I have named them after some of my favourite UK moths.

These earrings are made from sustainably sourced ash wood, which has been ebonised and sealed with a light layer conservator-grade micro-crystalline wax. The brush fibres are unwanted sewing thread from friends, neighbours and charity shop finds. The knots of brush fibre are attached to the ash base with red linen thread for a pop of colour.

Dimensions of wooden base: 30mm x 10mm x 6mm

The brush fibres are 20mm long

Overall length of the earrings is 46mm

The earrings are presented in a Jane Sedgwick Branded box and have their own comb.
